Shreveport’s Prize Fest is Almost Here and We’re Pumped

We’re now just a couple of weeks away from Prize Fest, and the event just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

It’s hard to believe that this will essentially be ten year anniversary of sorts for the event. Believe it or not, the Louisiana Film Prize first arrived in Shreveport back in 2012. The inaugural event was attended by 1,700 people, which is beyond impressive for a first-year event in Shreveport. Naturally, Gregory Kallenberg and his team knew they had a hit on their hands, and if you know Gregory, you know he is ALWAYS thinking bigger and better.

It wasn’t long before Louisiana Film Prize morphed into what it has become today. Which is a week=long event, known now as Prize Fest, branching far beyond the world of film. Now, Prize Fest also highlights the best of the best when it comes to music, food, fashion, comedy, and film.

The Prize Fest festivities will kick-off on Friday, October 14th, with their Music Prize Showcase followed by their Music & Fashion prize afterparty. Saturday, October 15th, will be a day for music-lovers as Music Prize takes centerstage. Sunday, October 16th, features the Fashion Prize Showcase and Runway Brunch, which begins at 10:00 AM.

Prize Fest returns the following week on Thursday, October 20th, with their flagship prize, the Film Prize.

Film Prize screenings will be held often throughout the day and night throughout the weekend. Those screening times will be announced shortly.

Friday, October 21st, will also feature the Food Prize Dining Experience at 7:00 PM. Saturday, October 22nd, seven comedians from across the country will compete in the Comedy Prize Standup Showdown, which begins at 8:00 PM.

There’s so much going on with Prize Fest, I couldn’t possibly fit everything in, so if you’d like to see the full and complete schedule, click HERE.

Simply put, this has always been one of my absolute favorite events, and Shreveport is beyond lucky to host Prize Fest each and every year. This year is particular exciting for me, as I have involvement with one of the twenty films who made it into Film Prize. Our film is titled, “Peeping Todd”, and you can find our trailer below.

Get excited Shreveport, Prize Fest is almost upon us! #VivaLaPrizeFest
